Dr. Shirish Prasad Amatya is a young and dynamic Pain and Spine Specialist at the Nepal Pain Care and Research Centre. He holds an MBBS, MD, Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management (FIPM), Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP), and Certification in Interventional Pain Sonography (CIPS), along with specialized training in Spine Endoscopy.
Dr. Amatya completed his MBBS in Bangladesh in 2004 and his MD in Anaesthesiology from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in 2011. He further pursued advanced specialization in pain medicine, completing a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management (FIPM) from Daradia: The Pain Clinic, Kolkata, India, in 2019, an institution accredited by the Aesculap Academy, Germany.
He has also obtained the prestigious Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) from the USA and Certification in Interventional Pain Sonography (CIPS) from the USA, reflecting his advanced training in interventional pain management and image-guided procedures.
In addition, Dr. Amatya has completed a Fellowship in Spine Endoscopy, further enhancing his expertise in minimally invasive approaches to the diagnosis and management of spine-related pain conditions.
Dr. Amatya currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Visiting International Faculty at Daradia: The Pain Clinic, India. With his extensive academic background, specialized international training, and clinical experience, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients suffering from chronic pain, spine disorders, and other complex pain conditions.

He believes in evidence based treatment using multidisciplinary approach to manage chronic pain conditions. He is highly motivated towards non surgical spine and pain interventions. His areas of interest include joint pain, chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes, neuropathic pain, slipped disc, cancer pain, regenerative medicine and highly specialized ultrasound & fluoroscopic guided pain interventions. He is actively involved in clinical researches and permanent member of Nepal Medical Council, life member of Society of Anaesthesiologist of Nepal (SAN) and Nepal Association for The Study of Pain (NASP).
